Jay is a blessing that I can't begin to describe, but I will try. Although as you may notice Jay is a Bay in color but is a registered paint. He is a crop-out paint. His dam, "Dancer" (Ginnas Hancock Dancer), my first horse and still a big part of our family, is a black and white overo paint with an incredible love for people, and his sire, "Gold Jay" a palamino, is a World Champion Reining and Cow horse.

Jay saddled and ready to ride

I knew Dancer had a son but never thought in a million years that I would be the one to end up with him. He is such a great horse with excellent potential. I am so excited to see how he is growing as a performance horse. He is very fast with a great heart and loves to be in the middle of it all. Jay is just like his mother, well, in terms of loving people anyway. He demands my full attention at times and gets sad when he is left behind. He "nays" in a high pitch and paces like Dolly. He is so girly sometimes. He is always the first at the gate in the evenings when it is time to go into the barn to eat. Like Dolly, Jay is becoming quite talented in the arena as I expected. I guess time will only tell just how talented, but it is another journey of many I look forward too.
